TOR Y FOEL

Tor Y foel is the conical mountain just left of centre in the picture. It rises dramatically above the Talybont reservoir with forested lower slopes but nice open mountainside when you get further up. In fact, the lane from Talybont climbs to the edge of the forest, leaving only a steeper than the steepest dash to the summit to contend with. I was up and down again in about twenty lung-bursting minutes, and the summit is a gorgeous peak just a few yards across (thats refreshing after so many explorations of high plateau looking for an elusive cairn or trig that marks the actual top).
